At Azalea Home/ Coastal Community Support Services, we offer respite for adults and children under Short Term Accommodation (STA). Azalea Home Support Services has one room available in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) home, located in the peaceful, leafy suburb of Seaford Rise. Just a 3-minute drive from Moana Beach, 10 minutes to McLaren Vale, and close to the train station for easy access to the city. A perfect place for a break!

We understand that everyone needs a break every now and then. That's why we offer respite services as one of our many programs. Respite is tailored to the individual's preferences and locations and can be used for both adults and children. Whether you need a break from parenting for a few hours, or want to get away for a weekend, we can help. Our caring staff will make sure that your loved one is well taken care of while you're away.

Short Term Accommodation (STA), including respite, is a support provided by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for when you need to live out of your usual home for a short period.

Here are the key points about how it works:

Purpose and Duration:

• STA is designed to give both NDIS participants and their informal support a well-earned break.
• It covers the cost of your care in another place for up to 14 days at a time.
• You might have a short stay with other people or by yourself.
• It’s often funded when your usual carers aren’t available or for you to try new things.

What’s Included:

• Personal care: Assistance with daily living activities.
• Accommodation: A place to stay away from your usual home.
• Food: Meals during your stay.
• Activities: Opportunities to engage in new experiences.
• The specific services are agreed upon by you and the service provider.

Flexibility:

• You can use your STA funding flexibly. For example: Use it in a block of up to 14 days at a time or allocate it for one weekend a month.
• Usually, the NDIS funds up to 28 days of STA per year.

Funding and Rates:

• The NDIS provides standard rates for STA.
• Generally, funding is for a group price, unless there’s evidence you require individual support due to your disability.
• If you already have funding in your Core budget, you can use it for STA.
• You can choose to use your Core budget on a range of supports, including STA, to suit your needs.
